The Famous Nyahururu Boys were a 1970s Kikuyu band, who also recorded for Sawa Sawa Sound and were led by James Wahome. The group’s Ndiretikia Ni Nii, originally issued as WAS 202, features on the Guitar Paradise of East Africa CD (Earthworks/Virgin, 1990), though the sleevenotes don’t offer any further details about the band’s history.

Francis Rugwiti led another Kikuyu group, Banana Hill Band, and recorded either solo or with them for Sokota,  Njogu, Sibuor among others.

The numbering system for this label is a bit of a mystery, either there are a great many other records on this label to discover or it changed its numbering system for some reason.
