MKULIMA
Mkulima means “farmer” in Kiswahili, though these are the first records I’ve encountered to have been made by Sapra in Nairobi. They appear to date from the early 1970s.
Mori River Jazz Band also recorded for Lolwe, Melodica and Sungura, while Orch Bana Mike recorded for His Master’s Voice. Both the language and, more importantly, the song titles are missing from the Bana Mike disc.
