It’s in English but the key feature of this single is that it was written by Joseph Kamaru, the leader of the City Sound Band and one of the biggest figures in Kikuyu pop. In a career that began in the 1960s and ended when he became a born-again Christian in 1993, he recorded songs for Kenya United Sounds, KMS (Kamaru Music Stores) and, inevitably, Kamaru. No doubt his name is attached to other recordings too.

City Sounds was also listed as the producer of the Orch Kalao Stars single on Ba-Mbute.
