The single VD 7-44 by the Kikuyu band leader turned up on Ebay in May 2010. A prolific artist, who also recorded for City Sounds, Kamaru, Kenya United Sounds and KMS, Kamaru was also an entrepreneur, controlling most aspects of the sale and distribution of his music. That he’s clearly working for someone else here suggests this record was cut early in his career, possibly in the 1960s.

The second single appeared on Ebay in December 2010 and is by an artist who also recorded for Diploma, although on that label the second name is given as Wanganangu.
