Now resident in the USA, Mapangala is one of the most active veteran musicians on the scene and has his own Myspace page where you can find out about his history, buy his CDs and downloads and watch his videos. Most recently his band Orch Virunga headlined the Sauti ya Busara in Zanzibar in February 2009 and are due to tour Europe this summer.

This single predates Orch Virunga and, according to Samba himself, dates from 1981 during the time when he was lead vocalist with Les Kinois, one of the key expat Congolese bands operating in Kenya. It is one of four singles issued on the label, the only other title Samba can recall being Adala.
