EJ 005 Rachid King Grand Zaire Au Coeur l"Afrique Pts 1 & 2
Rachid King was a bandleader in the eastern Congo, whose Grand Mike’s Jazz toured extensively in East Africa. He claims to have fostered the talents of Remmy Ongala, Tshala Muana and Yondo Sister among others.
Since the 1980s he has been resident in the US. According to his own web page on AOL, which has a URL too long to include here but is easily Googled, “Rachid King is a Vocalist, Guitarist and a Producer. He’s Charming and very Sexy”.
Sofiane of Groovy Record in Paris supplied details of EJ 004 in March 2011. The band also recorded for Ken-Tanza and may be linked to Orch Super Matimila as their single on that label refers to the band as Les Matimila.
