Many thanks to Martin Fuchs of Germany for sending in details and a label scan of this intriguing record. The label states that it was distributed by AIT - but it does not appear in the AIT master catalogue and neither do any other releases with similar catalogue numbers. Also, the University Orchestra does not feature anywhere else in this discography.

What is certain, though, is the date and the subject matter. The record is a tribute song to the socialist politician Josiah Mwangi Kariuki who was assassinated in 1975. The unsolved crime continues to throw a shadow over Kenyan politics more than 35 years after it occurred.
