Like Kwetu and Uhuru Stars, this Tanzanian label is a subsidiary of the state-run Tanzania Film Company, owner of one of the very few recording studios in the country during the 1970s.
Alex Perullo, in his book Live from Dar Es Salaam: Popular Music and Tanzania’s Music Economy (Indiana University Press, 2011), states that Uhuru Stars was the first TFC label, followed shortly afterwards by Sindimba.
All but three of the listings from this label come from Flemming Harrev in Denmark. The other three, SIN 7-17, 7-20 and 7-26, are from Didier and you can enjoy them online at his site www.mwanasimba.online.fr
