A Kikuyu label, out of Karatina, a market town midway between Nairobi and Nanyuki.

RBS 002 turned up on Ebay in February 2009, but the scan of the label was so poor that I am not sure if the catalogue number is correct. Certainly, the band doesn’t appear anywhere else in this discography. The BHB Band, though, are almost certainly Francis Rugwiti’s  Banana Hill Band. Many thanks to Sebastian Hoffman in Germany for sending in details of RBS 7-003 in January 2015. It is by Elijah Gitonga, a Kikuyu musician who recorded for a couple of other labels. Again, see Bands Index for more information.

The logic continues to escape me of calling your label Rainbow Sounds and then coming up with a black and white design for it.
