For a long time KNU 7-1 was the only record listed on this label after it turned up on Ebay in 2009, and I had assumed this was a label dedicated to DO Misiani’s prolific band.
In February 2011 I received a copy of AIT’s archive master catalogue which provided details of all of the other records listed here. It proved that Okebe was in fact a label for a wider range of Luo music. Production duties on KNU 7-1 are handled by Oluoch Kanindo, a man every bit as prolific as DO Misiani, and it is possible that he produced all of these records.
