I stumbled upon WOL 10 by chance while looking at looking at Carlos Montes Alcala’s Akabola Music blog for an entirely different reason. He had posted a small selection of benga singles yet to figure in this discography. Here’s one of them - and you can visit Akabola Music to download it and several others.

Mention on the label of the recording  of the Makasembo Recording Co in Nairobi suggests this is one of the Wamenyo Recording Company school of labels. It operated out of Suna in Western Province and also put out Luo singles on the Bwana Otieko Weche and Weka Waka labels.

I don’t know much about the band except they also recorded for the Log Dichiel label.

Sofiane of Groovy Record in Paris supplied details of WOL 1 in May 2011 and Fredrik Lavik in Norway supplied information on WOL 2 in September 2011. The Gloria Kings were an offshoot of the Victoria B Kings.
