Own label of Joseph Kamaru, the leader of the City Sounds Band and one of the biggest figures in Kikuyu pop. In a career that ran from the 1960s and ended when he became a born-again Christian in 1993, he also recorded songs for City Sounds, Kenya United Sounds and KMS (Kamaru Music Stores). No doubt his name is attached to other recordings too. In 2008 he is reported to have made a recent return to playing secular music.

I’ve yet to find a history of his activities detailed enough to outline the difference between his various bands, but you can find an overview of Kamaru’s career in an April 2009 Daily Nation interview with him here.
