Luo bands on a mid to late 1970s label apparently distributed by Phonogram. Must admit that I know nothing about the bands.

Thanks to Chris Albertyn who turned up GTN 012 in South Africa in December 2009, which helped me date the label a bit more accurately than my initial thought that it was from the early 1970s.

The label appears to take its name from the hills around Ng’iya, a village in Nyanza Province on the Siaya-Kisumu road that has come to prominence in recent years as it is near Kogelo, the ancestral home of US president Barack Obama.
