That City Sounds are listed as the record’s producers shows that Joseph Kamaru, creative force behind the City Sounds Band, was as much an entrepreneur as a bandleader. In fact City Sounds are credited as producers on the Almasi, Ba-Mbute, Ingwe, Kalambya Sounds, Maua and Shemeji labels. The operation was at its busiest in the mid-1970s which is when this record probably came out.
