Fataki Lokassa’s Bana Ngenge were one of the earlier Congolese bands to make an impact on the Kenyan scene. They also recorded for Bana Moja, Musiki du Zaire and Editions Babu. The mystery bands here, though, are Orch Jele Jele and Orch Yanga-Yanga, who don’t appear anywhere else in this discography.
Orch Yanga-Yanga may be linked to Orch Kiam to judge by comments on a 1977 LP by the band posted on the Global Grooves blog. Bolingo lists the title of TON 33 as being Kandolo Rondo Pts 1 & 2 on his website but refers to it as Bamama in his Global Groove comment, so
I have gone with the latter title for now.
All of these singles, as far as I can tell, were recorded and published by Jaca Productions and produced by AC Kochomo, a Kisumu producer who worked often with Luo bands such as Orch Sega-Sega.
