A label for productions by Chris Ochuodho for Raha Tele in Nairobi, Editions Chris seems to have operated in the late 1970s and early 1980s. The difference between the label’s three incarnations is hard to tell, although it may be significant that Editions Chris, Editions Chris R and Raha Tele all feature productions by Chris and Kalle, but Editions Chris Tetemeko has dropped this joint byline.

CJO 005, which was spotted on Youtube in April 2012, doesn’t fit the usual run of catalogue numbers. While it claims to have been produced by CJ Ochuodho, it has almost certainly been licensed from a Congolese label. The band’s name is misspelt on the label as Orch Celi Bithsou, but I have corrected the error in this listing.

Both Les Kinois and Super Bwambe were Congolese bands based in Kenya, while Les Moto Moto were Les Wanyika recording under another name. Orch Monama features writing credits for Jean Monimambo, so they may well be Orch Shika Shika operating under another name too.
