Gloria Kings were one of the many offshoots of the Victoria Jazz Band, one of the leading exponents of Luo benga.

It is possible this label is another Oula Recording Co subsidiary as both Oula and this record’s distributors, Mashuke Records, are based in Suna near Migori.

The label takes its name from a Luo saying, which translates as “human beings are birds”, that was also the title of a Victoria Jazz band hit.
