This label appears to have had two very different incarnations: one in the mid to late 1960s as an outlet primarily for Tanzanian releases in Kenya and then, as a Polygram subsidiary, from the early 1970s to the early 1980s as an outlet for a roster of regional bands from within Kenya.
Thanks to Greg Butler for sending in details of PA 7-7021. Although the label reads Peter Owino Bachar, it is a typo and should be Peter Owino Rachar, who went on to form the Golden Ugenya Band and set up as a producer in his own right with his own Rachar label.
Thanks to Frank Schneider who sent in details and a scan of AB 7-5018, the oldest record found to date (March 2011 – it has since been superseded as the oldest record by two other tiles that turned up on eBay in September 2014 and AB 7-5004, which appeared on the Discogs website in February 2016) on this label. Frank also sent in info and scans of AB 7-5040 and AB 7-5068 and I’ve added the latter to this page. In October 2011 Miles Cleret of Soundway Records provided details of AB 7-5020. It’s obviously by the same artist despite the different spelling of his name.
