The listing for the Wanyika Stars records on this label is based on the Wanyika Groups discography compiled by John Beadle with Doug Paterson and Peter Toll for Toshiya Endo’s website, which you can find here
http://biochem.chem.nagoya-u.ac.jp/~endo/EAWanyika.html
Thanks to Doug for the label scan and details of the other records listed here.
Orch Super Abalibayo were a Luhya band, who only appear to have recorded for this label.
Salula 14 is presumably a follow-up to Baba Otonglo (translation: Father of Money), a 1984 song by Luo musician John Owino that was banned by the Moi government for its apparent criticism of the president’s handling of government finances. Information from Popular Music Censorship in Africa, edited by Michael Drewett and Martin Cloonan (Ashgate Publishing, 2006).
Pauly Becquart very kindly sent in details of Salula 16, one of a tiny handful of records in Giriama on this website.
