JEMBE YA NGOMBE

Two singles that surfaced in the same South African storeroom as the later releases on the Sango label uncovered by Mat Temple and Chris Albertyn. The labels of both say they were released in 1982 and are in Swahili though they look like they are in Dholuo to me.


The label name, incidentally, has the wonderfully alliterative translation: ‘Plough of the Cow’. Presumably the cow was too difficult to draw.
